Matt and I have been casually watching the winter olympics over the last week or so. I have a much harder time getting into them versus the summer olympics for some reason. I think part of it has to do with the events themselves - they're just not all that interesting. Sure, it's cool to watch a guy fly down an ice chute head-first at 80 miles per hour, but after the first couple, it's kind of redundant to watch the next 20 go. Especially when at the end, there's only .0000012 seconds separating the leader from the last-place finisher. If only that last place guy hadn't gotten that twinge in his foot going around the fourth turn!
I also get a kick out of some of the announcers. I can be an announcer for some of the events after listening to these guys because they say the same thing over and over again. In fact, I do while we're watching. Matt gets a little annoyed hehe. "Wow, Matt! It's sooo important that they get a good pull so they can get the hull shot. Once they get the lead, it's just a battle for second place. And I can't stress this enough, it's soo important that they absorb their jumps." If you know which sport I'm talking about, you've been watching too much olympics like me :P
